Sugar on Snow, Lambs, and a New Website!
March is the time of year when maple sap starts to run and ewes get ready for lambs. At places like Shelburne Farms, the excitement is palpable, as the community of farmers, educators, students and visitors await the arrival of sugar on snow and each new addition to the flock.
It may be chilly here in Vermont, but we know spring is on its way. In this spirit, we are pleased to introduce you to something else sweet and adorable, the new Burlington Food Council website!
This website links you to our partners, provides timely volunteer and event information and is a place where you can not just learn about what we do but YOU can become a part of it.
Be sure to visit Shelburne Farms this spring for a maple open house, or visit in mid-April to greet the new lambs. For more information, see their calendar of events.
