About Us
An open community group, the Burlington Food Council has over 100 members. We represent nonprofit organizations and for profit businesses, work in public health and government and are concerned citizens contributing to the development of a sustainable food system for our community.
The Council meets six times a year to provide educational and networking opportunities for members and occasionally sponsors events in Burlington. Members also work on special projects together on a range of food, farming, nutrition, education and public health topics.
The Council meetings:
- Help members to network, communicate and collaborate with other like-minded organizations and individuals.
- Provide a forum for skills-sharing and enable participants to take concrete ideas back to their organizations to carry out purposeful activities.
- Provide educational and professional development opportunities.
- Create awareness among local businesses and individuals who are willing to support food, farming and nutrition education through volunteering and fundraising.
Everyone is invited, so please come and join us at our next meeting!
